Care by Material

Aluminum furniture generally requires minimal maintenance. Wipe furniture down after use with a moist cloth and mild detergent, then rinse with clean water.
Teak / Ipe Wood
Teak furniture arrives with an oil finish. This finish will need to be sanded occasionally and re-oiled to maintain an appearance similar to how the furniture looked when delivered.
The frequency depends on the elements and environment where the furniture is located.
PE Wicker
Regular cleaning with a soft brush and soapy water is important. This helps remove superficial soil and debris such as leaves, berries, pollen, and bird droppings before they build up.
After cleaning with soapy water, rinse thoroughly to remove all soap.
Sling Fabric
Sling should be cleaned regularly with mild soap and warm water, then rinsed thoroughly with cool water about every two weeks to maintain a 'like new' appearance. Thorough rinsing is very important because if soap is left behind, it will also attract dirt/oil and cause the sling to appear dingy.
Suntan lotion and oils can leave residue that attracts dirt and may make sling appear discolored or dingy (especially light colored sling) if they are not maintained with thorough cleaning.
Fabric Strapping
Clean fabric strapping with mild soap and warm water, then rinse thoroughly with cool water.
If soap residue is left behind, it can attract dirt and oil, making the strapping appear worn or dingy.
For hospitality environments, darker strapping is recommended because lighter colors may show marring and dirt more quickly.
Stone / Marble / Cement
Daily Care
Most stains can be removed within 24 hours using water and a gentle dish-washing detergent. For stubborn stains, use a small amount of concentrated detergent.
Marble Care
Marble is very porous, so normal sealing is not adequate protection. Tuffskin is recommended for marble installations. Either you or Silhouette can arrange application at the jobsite for tuffskin to be applied. If you would like Silhouette to arrange this, we will contact tuffskin to obtain costs and arrange the installation team to apply at the proper time.
Sealing
Stone and cement require sealing or waxing every 1β3 months, depending on the environment and installation conditions. Stone tops which have not been protected by Tuffskin will need to be re-sealed from time to time. The time between re-sealing will be dependent on installation conditions and appearance.
Silhouette Standard Outdoor Fabric & Cushions
Clean regularly with a soft brush and soapy water to remove suntan lotion, oil, dirt, leaves, berries, pollen, bird droppings, and other debris before staining can build up. It is important to always place your cushions in an upright position when not in use. This ensures optimum drainage, thereby minimizing the risk of mold and mildew. The anti-bacterial protection in the cushion core is most effective with correct drainage of the cushions.
- Please note that despite the anti-bacterial protection, mildew can still form on the inner and outer covers of the cushion if not properly drained or cleaned
- Treat food and drink spills immediately with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow cushions to dry upright.
- For stubborn stains or built-up dirt, carefully wash with a recommended stain remover. We donβt recommend removing cushion covers from the cushions themselves for cleaning. Cushions/fabric covers are very tailored and made to fit very tightly. Once a cover is removed, it is very difficult to get it back on a cushion properly. Working on tough stains with stain remover and thoroughly rinsing β until the stain is gone/nearly gone β is the best way to remedy the problem.
- Please check cushions consistently to prevent staining from becoming permanent. Light β medium-colored fabrics show staining much more than dark colored fabric. Even though Sunbrella is stain resistant, it does need care.
Furniture Cushions
It is best to store cushions indoors in a ventilated room. They may also be stored in a cushion box in a covered area, as long as proper ventilation is maintained. Alternatively, they can be stored in a cushion box in a covered area, protecting them from the elements while ensuring proper ventilation.
Do not store cushions on furniture frames for extended periods, as this can cause mold and mildew to form on the surface.
Furniture Storage
Furniture can remain outdoors year-round, but it is best to store it under a furniture cover during winter months or extended periods of non-use.
Condensation can form under covers, which may cause mold and mildew. Lift covers away from the furniture to promote airflow and reduce condensation.
When possible, indoor storage during winter months is recommended.
Faux Wood / Sumpar
Sumpar wood is a dense faux wood made from recycled plastics with an appearance similar to wood.
When treated with wax oil, it becomes more stain and water resistant. Wax oil should be applied every 1β3 months or more often depending on weather and environment.
If no finish is applied, stains such as red wine, oil, grease, and soy sauce should be removed immediately. Regular cleaning with a mild soap/water solution is suggested.
Resysta
Resysta surfaces are durable and require very little maintenance. When needed, clean with gentle soap and water, then towel dry.
